ICBRR2023 will recommend outstanding articles for publication in the Environmental Pollution journal

Environmental Pollution is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes high quality research papers and review articles about all aspects of environmental pollution and its effects on ecosystems and human health. The journal welcomes high-quality process-oriented and hypothesis-based submissions that report results from original and novel research and contribute new knowledge to help address problems related to environmental pollution at a regional or global scale.

Advanced processes for environmental pollution remediation and mitigation
The industrial revolution, technological advancement and the ever-increasing human population have created serious environmental pollution that requires immediate remediation strategies, this can be realized by advanced treatment processes.
This topical virtual special issue aims to publish novel research reporting innovative strategies to remediate environmental pollution emerging in different sectors. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals and applications of the advanced treatment process along with the description of the design, operation, and effectiveness in environmental pollution remediation.
The potential topics include, but are not limited to:
• Applications of advanced treatment processes and development to remove or minimize emerging pollutants and environmental wastes (e.g. wastewater, microplastics, heavy metals, PAHs, pesticides, VOCs, NOx, particulate matter, contaminants of emerging concern).
• Pollution remediation through efficient bioprocessing and biorefinery.
• Thermochemical remediation and mitigation (e.g. pyrolysis, gasification, torrefaction, hydrothermal processing, carbonization) of environmental waste.
• Integrated treatment process for environmental pollution mitigation.
• Sustainable remediation of hazardous environmental pollutants
• Environmental remediation in the circular economy
• Environmental impact assessment using computational methods
Original research articles on the theme of this topical virtual special issue are welcomed. Review contributions are expected to present sound critical overviews of the state-of-the-art of a topic from the proposed subjects.
